Savant Bar

This neighborhood cafe and wine bar attracted me as it has a very good natural wine offering. In the mornings stop by here for a craft coffee and sandwich. In the afternoon it transforms into a wine bar with a focus on natural wines. The food menu is seasonal, veggies focused and served in small dishes. It was an asparagus season at the time and I enjoyed a lovely dish with green asparagus, spinach and parmesan cheese. Sourdough bread here was simply great. There were about five different options by glass in each of the categories: bubbles, orange wines, reds and whites. I chose fantastic Spanish pet-nat and juicy fruity Grenache from Languedoc-Roussillon. Or you can always order a bottle from an extensive wine list. The place is small with a few tables outside. High ceilings give lots of volume, air and daylight through large windows. Check out a really nice library on natural wines by the window. Pipette magazine issues, books on cider making and natural wines. Feel free to flip through while sipping on your natty wine. Come here to enjoy good veggie food, natural wines and craft coffee.

UPDATE: We simply HAD to come back - this time to sit at the actual "Chef's Table" in the kitchen - and the revisit was definitely worthwhile! 🥰 Here's our previous review: We discovered Savant through the otherwise excellent White Guide - more specifically their glowing review at https://12fwd.com/cities/stockholm/savant-bar. Savant's website further tempted us with their "Chef's Table" offering for 2-4 people. After a brief and pleasant email exchange, we were welcomed at our requested time - but not at the "actual" Chef's Table...! What gives? Turns out the actual table is in the kitchen at Savant, and our arrival coincided with an extraordinarily hot evening (35°C) in Stockholm. While the main bar room was air-conditioned, the kitchen wasn't - and it was seething (poor cook)! So a small corner table in the main room was ours for the evening. That actually worked out really well. The very knowledgeable and attentive woman behind the bar kept us super happy with a steady stream of funky, playful, and lovely wine pairings to go with the various delicacies from the hot kitchen. The cook meanwhile, treated us to a virtual tour de force of light, tasteful, satisfying, and mainly green dishes - very much in the spirit of the White Guide review, except the actual dishes were different - and perfect in the hot weather! We were treated to lovely local cheeses, sweets, espresso, and a final strong, pure mescal, and had a wonderful evening! At SEK 1500/pers all inclusive, that's terrific value - at least in Scandinavia! Well done, Savant! Thank you! :-)

This the best place in Stockholm for food, coffe and natural wine. The owner is a supersonic star and the atmosphere is just right. I always find someone to share wine experience with and it always ends with meaningful discussions about everything. This is as close to a cosy wine bar in Paris that you will ever find in Sweden. It feels like coming home to a warm embrace, add superb food to that and you will understand what I mean
